Conceptual Poster

For this assignment, students had to choose a world issue that deeply impacted them and create a conceptual image of it.  In some sort of way, students had to apply their critical thinking skills and find a way to really grab the viewers attention and make an impact on them.  Show them how serious this problem really is.  For me, i chose Climate Change.  Although i am not very passionate about this issue, this assignment has helped me realize that i am very out of tune with the world and don't really have an issue that i care deeply about.  But i have noticed that this year has been uncomfortably hot for me, and has driven me to want to make a difference about it.

Painting with Color (Ribbons)

I showed my understanding of this assignment by painting three compositions that were measured 6x6 inches.  All compositions consisted of primary colors.  The first painting is shade, where black was mixed, the second is primary with nothing added and the third is tint, where white was added.  I chose to use a pattern like this because it's simple and lets you focus more on the colors.  I also love this pattern because you can look at it in a few different ways.  My favorite is to view the yellow as a background and look at the red and blue colors as a ribbon going across the composition.  This project was fun, i absolutely love painting, i just wish we did it for more than a week.
